Becoming a Christian was a life-changing turning point in my life.
_ Before becoming a Christian, I was rather unhappy and did not have a good relationship with my mom because she showed very obvious favoritism with my brother. Though I had many friends and did well academically – often at the top of my class, I felt as if something was missing in my life. I didn’t know what to believe in since there were so many different truths in the world. Which is d truth and which is false? And how do I tell the difference between them? I sometimes question my purpose of living – is there more to just studying, getting a job, get married, have children…?

One of the lowest point of my life was in my college years where I was betrayed by a close girl friend. I felt very let down and depressed. I started to question, “Who are the people that I CAN trust, if I can’t trust my best friend? It made me focus more on my search for the truth – searching for answers to “Why am I here? Is there a God?” I sought answers in Buddhism, since my family members were Buddhists, but I was not satisfied with the answers. This is because Buddhism couldn’t answer “Is there a God that created mankind and the world?”
_ During this time, somebody reached out to me and invited me to church. I went to church and studied the Bible with a few people. It answered almost all of my questions and I was touched by God’s love, faithfulness, mercy and grace. So, I decided to become a Christian, and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and got baptized soon after that. It did not happen in a short period of time, but I took almost 1 year for God to work on my heart, to come to a point that I was ready.
Now that I m a Christian, I m more secure because I know that I am God’s child. I can share my struggles, feelings and bring my joy and worries to God and I know that He listens to me and loves me like a Father loves a child.
_ I have the Bible, which is God’s Word to guide me and be a compass in my life. I know that it can protect me from harm, if I keep within God’s laws and commandments. And I have the church – other Christians that will walk beside me through the ups and downs of life.
_ I will never regret making the decision to be a Christian, as it is the best decision I have ever made. I have experienced many of God’s blessings and have seen God delivery the promises that He has made in my life – that He has a good plan for me.
