Tell the Devil Today

Tell the Devil Today

 _

 Tell the devil today, he is a liar!;

_

He will not take your joy, your peace or disturb your spirit.

_

Tell him he cannot sleep in your bed – there’s not enough cover.

_

Tell him he cannot sit in your chair – you will not give him a cushion of comfort.

_

Tell him he can’t touch your body – it’s covered with the blood.

_

Tell him he cannot audit your finances – you’ve changed accountants.

_

Tell him he cannot enter your home – the locks have been changed.

_

Tell him to leave your workplace – he’s not on your list of things to do for today.

_

Tell him to take his hands off your children – because you’ve had hands laid on them.

_

Tell him you have no time for his nonsense, criticism or fears – you are on a mission, and you walk by faith.

_

Tell him no more tears, heartaches, or headaches – because there’s another, He, that restoreth your soul.

_Tell him; Tell him; Tell him; Tell him.

Tell him, today, you have a gentle, powerful inner peace within that consumes you and leaves no room for confusion.

Tell him, today you will – respond soothingly to a crying child, a tense spouse, or an impatient friend.

Tell him, today, you will find no fault with a relative, friend, or colleague.

Tell him to leave your tongue alone – for today you will not talk of anyone, before placing God at the beginning of your thought.

Tell him, wherever you are, that God Is.

Tell him, God said, “My people will abide in a peaceful habitation…and in quiet resting places.” [Isaiah 32:18]

Today, Tell him he is a liar!!!,

Amen

Questions…

Questions…

Questions, Questions in a myriad they go,
When will they stop? I don’t really know.
They come to me day and night,
Reason I muster, yet am I right? My future, my present and even my past,
Are crashing in on me with a blast.
They march before me in a parade,
As I wonder what of my life I have made.

Then my friend comes and speaks to me,
“It’s not what you’ve made it or want to be.
When I look at you I see God’s love,
I see the work of the Holy Dove.”

I’ll rest from my questions all through the day,
And trust in You to guide my way.
When questions march before me at night,
I’ll send them on a little flight.

Way up they can go to my God above,
I will trust in Him and walk in love.
I will rest from all worry and fear,
For I know that my Redeemer is near.

What God Has Promised

God has not promised

Skies always blue,

Flowers-strewn pathways

All our lives through;

God has not promised

Sun without rain,

Joy without sorrow,

Peace without pain.

                                                                                                           But God has promised

Strength for the day,

Rest for the labor,

Light for the way,

Grace for the trials

Help from above

Unfailing sympathy

Undying love.

I Asked God

I asked God to take away my grief

And God said, “No…

It is not for Me to take away.

But for you to work it through.”

I asked God to make my broken heart whole.

And God said, “No…

Your pain is only temporary”

It’s for you to learn from it.

I asked God to grant me patience.

And God said, “No…

Patience is a by-product of tribulation,

It isn’t granted, it’s earned.”

I asked God to give me happiness

And God said, “No…

I give you blessings,

Happiness is up to you.”

I asked God to spare me pain.

And God said, “No…

Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares

And brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.

And God said, “No…

I do the pruning that makes you fruitful.”

I asked God if He loved me.

And God said, “Yes…

I gave My only Son to die for you.”

I asked God to help me love others

as much as He loves me.

He said, “Ah, finally , you got the idea.”
